About the event

Thanks to the kind cooperation of Iarnród Éireann, Táilte Tours CLG are pleased to announce our 4th mainline diesel railtour, "The Eyre Lee Bird" from Cork to Galway and return on Saturday 5th April 2025. The sequel to our popular "Suir Lee Knot" railtour back in 2023, we'll be taking a 2600 class railcar set on a journey from the banks of River Lee to Eyre Square Galway, via Limerick and the Western Rail Corridor. 2600s are extremely rare visitors to the west of Ireland these days, and for added fun we've requested heritage livery 'Arrow' set Nos.2601+2602 as part of the formation.

We'll depart Kent Station, Cork, at 08:45, through the Cork tunnel, picking up at Mallow (09:10) and up the premier mainline to Limerick Junction, Co Tipperary, where passengers can join at 09:50. At the junction we'll swing a left on the race track towards Limerick city. Here,…
